Raphael Bianco
Resident Artistic Direction and Choreographer
Raphael Bianco studied as a dancer and choreographer his training ranged from classical to contemporary dance, he studied choreographic composition approaching the theories of Laban under the tutoring of Susanna Egri and Karin Wahener. After dancing in the Norwegian National Contemporary Dance Company Carte Blanche and a short experience with the Ensemble of Micha Van Hoecke, he has been dancing with the Ballet du Nord – National Choreographic Centre of Roubaix in France.
Raphael returned to Italy in 1999 and founded with Susanna Egri the Compagnia EgriBiancoDanza. Raphael is a choreographer who makes eclecticism his artistic credo by dedicating to each project a different poetic and aesthetic research. Today, however, his research is more circumscribed, abstract and visionary, with particular attention to the infinite suggestions of the body and movement, Raphael draws inspiration from political and social instances and from the intimacy of the soul and where human being is at the center of his choreographic investigation.
